Undergraduate
BSc Management with Law
Who
is it for?
This
degree combines essential elements from both the current BSc
Management and LLB degrees for External students. The combination
of management and law provides an opportunity for critical and
theoretical study. It is intellectually demanding as there are
two disparate academic disciplines involved.
The
management subjects have been designed with a strong emphasis
on social science theory and practice which should be relevant
to your experiences and local environment.
The
law subjects have been selected to give you the opportunity
to satisfy the requirements for legal training and for their
relevance to management.
Both
management and law subjects studied will provide you with knowledge
and understanding of a wide range of issues in international
management.
If
you are interested in pursuing a career in law, you will need
to take all of the law options marked with an asterisk (*) on
the structure. This
will then satisfy the academic stage of the legal training requirements
of the Law Society and Bar of England and Wales (but see page
21 for further information). The title of the degree that will
be awarded to you will be 'BSc Law with Management'.
Alternatively,
the combination of management and law will equip you to work
in both public and private sectors where a demonstrated ability
for logical reasoning is required. It is particularly useful
if you want a career in the management of a legal practice.
